Roofing by one team

Every extension and loft conversion we build needs a roof, and the roofing is carried out by our own team. That covers the flat roof over a rear extension, the dormer on a loft conversion, the tiling where a new roof meets the old one, and the rooflights and lanterns set into it.

Keeping roofing within the same programme as the structure means the building is made weathertight as early as possible, and the internal trades can follow without delay.

We work across Kingston, Richmond, South West London and Surrey. See the areas we cover or send an enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Do you take on roofing that is not part of a larger project?

Most of our roofing is carried out as part of an extension, loft conversion or refurbishment. Send the details of a standalone roof with your enquiry and we will confirm whether we can help.

Do rooflights need planning permission?

Usually not on a house. Rooflights that project no more than 150 millimetres from the roof slope are generally permitted development, though restrictions apply in conservation areas and on listed buildings.

Does a new flat roof need to be insulated?

Yes. A new roof over a heated room must meet the thermal standards in Part L of the Building Regulations, and replacing more than a quarter of an existing roof covering usually triggers the same requirement.

Will scaffolding be needed?

For dormers, pitched roofs and most two storey work, yes. Scaffolding is included in the quote, and a licence is arranged with the council where it stands on the pavement.
